Salam dear. :)to be honest, i’m having the same problem too.. my niat always went astray T__T but by the time when we realize it, we need to instantly tajdid [renew] our niat.. Lillahi taala. :)
first of all, we must remember this. glue this in our heads.
believe that everything comes from Allah. everything happens with His permission/approval. the knowledge you gained, the brain that think, mind that understand, eyes that see, the ideas you get, your urge to study, even the breath that you take, the heart that beats. everything.
“not a leaf falls without His knowledge.” (Al An’am, 6:59)
when this perception sticked in your heart, you’ll automatically feel small.. you’ll realize you’re nothing without Him.. since He’s the one who give you everything, why don’t you be thankful?you’ll feel that it is your responsibility to please Him, to do what He has told us to do, and follow His guidance. not to please His creation, not to show off/compete with each other, not to prove that you’re better. this includes in our study.
The Prophet (pbuh) said, “The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.” Al-Tirmidhi but “if knowledge is not attached with taqwa, it becomes means of arrogance.”-Nouman Ali Khan. if you do, you won’t feel that your success is solely comes from your intelligence/efforts. also, even if you’ve worked so hard you won’t feel depressed if you cant make it or get low grades. because you believe Allah knows what is best for you.
“Allah knows and you know not.” (Al Baqarah, 2:216) and Allah counts your efforts rather than the outcomes. :)
there’s a quote, “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think.”*sorry for the long answer..huhu. and i’m sure there’s grammar error somewhere. please inform me. my english is poor.. T__T
take care! :)
